Buying Guide: Pipe Nipples, Unions and Valves

PVC Nipples, Unions and Risers
Schedule 80 PVC nipples are available in sizes such as 1/2 in. MPT and 3/4 in. MIP, and a Schedule 80 PVC union has 1-1/4 in. FPT ends. A 1/2 in. IPS poly sprinkler cut-off riser is also available. Match the pipe size, end type and schedule on the old part before you order.

Galvanized Pipe, Unions and Repair Clamps
Galvanized steel pre-cut pipe, such as 1/2 in. dia. x 18 in. L, is coated with zinc to prevent corrosion. A galvanized brass dielectric union, 3/4 in. MIP x 3/4 in. dia., helps prevent electrolysis or galvanic action when connecting dissimilar materials. The stainless steel pipe repair clamp is used to repair holes, leaks, splits and cracks in pipe.

Copper Couplings, Sillcocks and Valves
The range includes a 1 in. CTS x 1 in. dia. male copper coupling and a 3/4 in. compression copper straight valve. An angle chrome sillcock with a 1/2 in. inlet automatically drains when the water is shut off. Match the end type and connection size on the old part before you order.
