Buying Guide: Hobby Paint Finishes and Colors

Satin Hobby Paint
Satin White dries to a soft, semi-matte finish with excellent coverage. Color names such as Satin Navy and Decorator Color Satin Kelly Green show both the finish and the color, so compare the full name before you order. Several of these paints cover 3 square feet.

Gloss, Metallic and Glitter Paint
Gloss White has a glossy enamel finish that works well on wood, terra cotta, metal and more. The metallic paints come in traditional finishes and sparkling jewel tones for lush backgrounds and dazzling embellishments. Glitter Ice is a fine glitter paint with a sparkly brush-on formula that makes applying glitter mess-free, and it is perfect for tin, glass, ceramic, wood, terra cotta, rigid plastic, plaster and paper mache.
