Tubing Types
Clear vinyl tubing suits low-pressure applications such as drainage lines and beverage dispensing, and it is not recommended as an ice maker supply line. Some polyethylene tubing, such as the 1/4 in. ID x 3/8 in. OD x 25 ft. model, is white and resists solvents, acids, alkalis and fuel. PVC braided tubing comes in sizes such as 1/4 in. D x 1/2 in. D x 20 ft.
Hoses for Home and Marine Use
Rubber dishwasher and disposal discharge hoses connect an air gap to the appliance and are reinforced with polyester. The PVC bilge pump discharge hose is corrugated and suited to marine and low-pressure water discharge. Reinforced PVC air hoses handle high-pressure work such as air compressors and pneumatic tools.
