Buying Guide: Choosing Drainage Fittings
Fittings and Couplers
Snap-together polyethylene fittings include tees, wyes, 90 degree elbows, external couplings, reducing couplers and split couplers. Caps, end plugs and blind tees are also offered for closing off the end of a line. Sizes include 3 in. and 4 in. snap ends, so check both ends of the fitting before you buy.
Downspout and Pipe Adapters
Downspout adapters use barb connections, with sizes such as 3-1/4 in. barb by 2 in. diameter barb. A corrugated-to-clay pipe adapter connects 3 in. S&D pipe to 4 in. S&D pipe.
Accessories and Pressure Pipe
The range also includes a round plastic 6 gang distribution box for new and old work and a round sump basin lid measuring 18 in. wide by 2 in. deep. Poly Flex pressure pipe, 1 in. in diameter and 100 ft long, is rated 250 PSI and offered for water service and irrigation applications.
