Buying Guide: Choosing York Flashing
Copper and Vinyl Flashing
York's copper deck flashing and copper termite barrier flashing come in 8 in., 10 in. and 12 in. widths. The copper termite barrier is a single copper sheet with a polymer layer and rubber adhesive, made for use with chemically treated wood. YorkShield vinyl flashing is used for deck and ledger board flashing, head flashing, sill pans, soffits, fascia boards and shower pans.
Window, Door and Sealing Tapes
HomeSeal asphalt and polyethylene tape is sold in 4 in., 6 in., 9 in. and 12 in. widths. The 12 in. HomeSeal window flashing can seal cracks, punctures and variations in foundations or masonry walls. It also helps form an air and moisture barrier at construction joints and around doors and windows. Wasco Seal is a flexible PVC membrane in a 12 in. width, available in 20 mil and 30 mil thicknesses.
Stainless Steel Flashing
York 304 stainless steel self-adhering flashing comes in 8 in. and 12 in. widths. It works as lap or splice flashing and as detail flashing around windows, and it can be cut and formed by hand. It is used to help prevent air transmission through masonry curtain walls, construction joints and fittings.
