Buying Guide: Tru Aire Registers and Grilles
Registers and Grilles
Wall and ceiling registers, floor registers, floor baseboard registers and baseboard diffusers suit supply airflow from a central air system. Return air grilles and a return air filter grille are made for drawing air back to the system. Many registers have a stamped face that directs air in one, two or three directions.
Diffusers and Dampers
Ceiling diffusers are round with a step-down design that deflects air 360 degrees. The ceiling damper is a butterfly style that is used with a round ceiling diffuser to help spread airflow from the duct opening. Baseboard diffusers come in several widths for different openings, and the floor diffusers shown are 10 in. wide.
Finishes and Materials
Most Tru Aire products are steel with a powder coat finish in white or brown, and some are matte black steel. The floor diffuser in brown ABS plastic has a louvered design with a smooth glide damper. Check the finish you want before ordering if you are matching existing vents.
