Buying Guide: Choosing a Stabila Level
Torpedo and Magnetic Levels
The 10 in torpedo levels have milled measuring surfaces, and the 81 S and 81 SM have compact die-cast aluminum bodies. The 81 SM and 81 SMW45 add rare earth magnets, and the 81 SM also has hang holes; one model has a V-groove that holds on steel materials, including round surfaces.
Box Beam and Extendable Levels
Box beam levels in 16 inch, 24 in and 32 Inch lengths use reinforced aluminum profiles, hand holes and removable end caps with anti-slip wall grips. The Type 80 T extendable level adjusts its length, with a 41 in setting shown in the range.
Level Cases
The nylon level case is water-resistant and has six separate pockets for organizing and carrying several levels. Its pockets are designed to hold 78 in, 32 in, 24 in and 16 in levels, plus 10 in torpedo levels.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Stabila make?
Stabila offers aluminum spirit levels in torpedo, box beam, extendable and magnetic models, plus a six pocket nylon case for storing and carrying them.
How do I choose the right size or type?
Pick a length that suits the work, such as a 10 in torpedo level for tight spots or a 24 in or 32 Inch box beam level for longer surfaces. Vial count also varies, with 2 vial and 3 vial models available, so compare those too.
