Buying Guide: Tubing and Hose Size

PVC and Braided Vinyl Tubing
The clear PVC vinyl tubing handles a variety of chemicals, gases and liquids, and resists many solvents, acids, alkalis and fuels. Sizes such as 1/2 in. Dia. x 3/4 in. Dia. give two diameters, so compare both with the connection you plan to use. Use compression connections, hose barbs or clamps with it.

Supply, Bilge and Discharge Hose
Polyethylene bilge hose comes in sizes such as 1-1/4 in. ID x 6 ft. and 2 in. Dia. x 50 ft., and suits marine applications and discharge where no vacuum is present. Reinforced vinyl supply hose comes in sizes such as 3/4 in. ID x 1 in. OD, 75 ft. long, and 1/2 in. ID x 3/4 in. OD, 12 in. long. The 2 in. PVC discharge hose is 150 ft. long and is not recommended for sand or gravel.

Fuel Line, Air and Heater Hose
The PVC fuel line hose in 1/2 in. D x 100 ft. is reinforced with polyester braiding and resists oil, grease and ozone. The red air hose is 3/8 in. D x 150 ft. L and is rated 300 psi. Rubber heater hose comes in 1 in. Dia. x 75 ft., and latex rubber hose comes in 3/8 in. Dia. x 50 ft.
