Buying Guide: Gates and Bird Feeders

Child Safety Gates and Locks
Pressure mount gates such as the Supergate Classic and Diamond Mesh gate expand into the opening and lock in place with no tools. Expandable metal, wire mesh and retractable mesh gates cover other openings, and a Universal Pet gate is also available. Strap locks and plug protectors help secure kitchen appliances and electrical outlets.

Bird Feeders and Accessories
Some plastic hopper feeders, such as the Barn Wild, have four ports and a removable tray for easy cleaning, and several come in village-style designs. Metal suet feeders hold a single suet cake and attract woodpeckers, nuthatches and chickadees. A feeder pole with hooks lets you hang tube, mesh, wire and tray feeders together, and a bird seed scoop helps you fill them.
