Buying Guide: Wire Connectors and Pumps

Waterproof and Underground Connectors
Waterproof connectors come prefilled with silicone sealant and are certified UL 486D as a sealed wire connector system for damp, wet and submersible locations. Underground connectors are meant for direct burial in landscaping with no junction box required, and they come in blue and tan.

Aluminum Lugs, Nuts and Staples
AlumiConn is a lug-style connector with three separate ports for aluminum to copper splices. Gorilla Nuts wire connectors have a cushion grip and a WorkSkirt that covers stripped wires. Insulated steel staples are used with BX or Romex cable, with PVC insulation bonded to the top of the staple.

Manual Utility Pump
The Siphon King Manual Utility Pump removes water from valve boxes, meter pits and pipe trenches. It is self-priming, and its flexible discharge hose directs water away from the work site. Four strokes remove one gallon of water.
