Buying Guide: Cutting Discs, Saw Blades and Mandrels
Fiber Cutting Disks
Gyros fiber disks are abrasive cut off wheels with a fiberglass-reinforced structure. The LT grade is formulated for low tensile strength materials such as glass, plastic, stone, ceramic, wood, aluminum, copper and brass. The HT and ST grades are for harder materials, including hardened and unhardened steels, steel alloys, stainless steel and titanium.
Circular Saw Blades
Gyros saw blades come in fine, coarse and ripsaw styles. Fine-tooth blades cut wood, plastic and soft metals such as brass, aluminum and copper, while coarse-tooth blades offer fast cutting on soft and hard woods. Ripsaw blades have set teeth for fast sawing of wood and plastic. Match the diameter and arbor size on your old blade before ordering.
Mandrel for Rotary Tools
The Gyros stainless steel mandrel has a 1/4 inch round shank and mounts accessories such as miniature circular saw blades and cut-off wheels onto rotary hand tools. It mounts onto a 1/4 inch arbor hole. Check your tool manual to confirm its arbor requirements before mounting any accessory.
