Buying Guide: Ratchet Winch Capacity
Freewheeling Ratchet Design
Ratchet winches suit horizontal pulling where a freewheeling feature is needed, such as boat trailer work. Dutton's winches are best suited to these applications.
Handle, Gear Ratio and Finish
The DL1100A has a 3.7:1 gear ratio, so 3.7 handle revolutions turn the drum one full turn. Its 7 in. handle has an ergonomic molded grip, and it uses a TUFFPLATE zinc finish.
