Buying Guide: Drain Augers, Toilet Augers and Test Plugs
Drain Augers and Sewer Rods
The 10 ft. drain pipe auger is made for most small household drains and has spring wire for flexibility in tight bends. The 15 ft. pistol grip drum auger clears small and medium household drains. Cobra also offers flat steel sewer rods, a 25 ft. drain pipe auger and a 75 ft. replacement cable, so match the length and type of the old tool before you order.
Toilet Augers
The 3 ft. L toilet auger is for use in most household toilets and has rust-resistant spring wire and a non-slip grip handle. A rubber bowl guard and a polymer guide tube help protect the porcelain from scratching during insertion. Cobra also offers a 3 ft. toilet auger in a 1/2 in. size, so compare the length with the reach you need before you order.
Test Plugs
The 1-1/2 in. Rubber Econo Plug seals piping or holds pressure during testing and is for 1-1/2 in. cast iron and PVC pipe. Cobra also offers a 3 in. econo plug and a 2 in. rubber test plug, so match the plug size to the pipe diameter. Follow the manufacturer's instructions when testing.
