Buying Guide: Surge Protection and Power Strips
Power Strips and Surge Protectors
Charg power strips come with 6 or 7 outlets on a single cord. Some models add USB-A and USB-C ports for charging, and under-mount units on certain models help keep power cords off the ground and manage cables.
SurgeSwap Replaceable Cartridges
The SurgeSwap design lets you swap out the surge protection part rather than buying a new unit. Charg sells a replacement surge protector cartridge with 1000 J of protection, and the adapter cord uses a SurgeSwap plug head with an integrated circuit breaker.
Extension and Adapter Cords
Charg extension cords include an indoor 10 ft. black model with 14/3 SJTOW cord and a split design with two power units that can sit on either side of a sofa or bed. The adapter cord links a NEMA 5-15P plug to an IEC C13 connector and is 6 ft. long.
