Bird-B-Gone

Buying Guide: Choosing a Bird Deterrent

Spikes, Tape and Visual Scare Devices
Bird spikes are made to deter birds from perching on flat or curved surfaces, and the spikes are virtually invisible once installed. Mylar flash tape rustles and reflects light to disorient birds, and it is sold in a 50 ft length and a 150 ft x 2 in roll. Decoys, scare balloons and Scared-Eye diverters add visual deterrence.

Repellents and Kits
Bird-Out is an aromatic refill cartridge that disperses Methyl Anthranilate into the air for outdoor and semi-enclosed areas. A bird repellent gel, a woodpecker deterrent kit that includes flash tape and a scare balloon, and a solar yard shield for most animal types round out the range of options.
