Buying Guide: Attic Vents and Power Fans

Roof, Turbine and Undereave Vents
Roof vents are attic exhaust vents, and undereave vents are the intake vents in a balanced attic ventilation system. Turbine vents use the natural force of wind and air pressure, such as the Air Hawk turbine and base at 18.4 in H x 12 in Dia. Compare the dimensions of your old vent before you order.

Gable Mount Power Fans and Power Roof Ventilators
Gable mount power fans are installed in the gable end and use a thermostat to help prevent heat buildup. Power roof ventilators can remove a larger volume of hot or humid air than static ventilation, and they come in sizes such as 26 in H x 26 in W. Have a qualified technician install any power fan or ventilator.

Foundation Vents and Louvers
Foundation vents come in sizes such as 8 in H x 16 in W in black plastic, and automatic foundation vents are also offered. Mini louvers come in sizes such as 2 in W x 2 in L, and wall louvers come in sizes such as 12 in W x 18 in L. Wall louvers are installed in the gable end of the attic, and the higher they are placed, the more effective they become as exhaust vents.
