Buying Guide: Fluorescent Ballasts
Ballast Types Available
The range includes electronic ballasts for T12, T8 and T5 fluorescent lamps, a CFL ballast, and an Optanium T8 ballast. Some T12 models are made for High Output lamps, which need a ballast built for that lamp type. Check the lamp type on your fixture before choosing a model.
Matching Wattage, Lamps and Voltage
Match the lamp count and wattage printed on your old ballast, such as 2 lamp 32 watt or 3 lamp 32 watt. Some models run on 120/277 input volts, while others are written for 120 volt input. Confirm the input voltage your fixture uses before ordering.
Installation Notes
Ballasts are electrical components, so have a qualified electrician install them. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and the fixture manual for wiring details. Turn off power at the breaker before any work begins.
