Buying Guide: PEX Fittings and Valves

PEXLock Tees and Crimp Rings
The 1/2 in. PEXLock tees install with only pliers, can be removed with a straight head screwdriver, and can be reused. The 1 in. PEXLock reducing tee with clamps comes in a 4 pk., and the 1/2 in. PEXLock crimp ring is sold in a 3 pk. Measure your tubing and match the size on each end before you order.

Elbows, Tees, Couplings and Adapters
The line includes PEX PVC elbows, PEX copper couplings, reducing couplings and adapters with male and female threads, including MPT and FPT. Names show each end, such as 3/8 in. PEX x 1/2 in. Dia. MPT PVC Elbow, so match the PEX size and the thread on your old fitting before you order. Measure your tubing first.

Plastic Supply Valve
The 3/8 in. plastic supply valve is a directional stop valve for PEX or polybutylene tubing, with compression ends. Water must flow in the direction of the arrow, so check the arrow before you install it. Compare both ends with your old valve, and have a qualified technician install valves in pressurized water lines.
