Buying Guide: Breakers, Load Centers and Meter Sockets

Circuit Breakers
Breakers come in amp ratings such as 15 amps, 20 amps and 30 amps, including AFCI, arc fault, ground fault and GFCI types. Plug-in 2-pole breakers come in 20 amp, 30 amp and 35 amp ratings, and the 35 amp BR model is a replacement breaker. Match the amp rating and pole count to your old breaker before you order.

Load Centers and Meter Sockets
Load centers come in main lug and main breaker styles, such as a 70 amp surface mount main lug model with 4 circuits. Meter sockets include a 200 amp ringless model for overhead or underground service, with a horn bypass. Check the rating and mounting with your utility or electrician before you order.

Hubs, Filler Plates and Fusible Disconnects
Bolt-on hubs come in 1.00 in. and 1.50 in. sizes for B openings, and the 1.00 in. hub is for 100 amp and 125 amp load centers. Fusible AC disconnects come in 30 amp and 60 amp ratings, and a 1 in. BR wall mount filler plate is also available. Match the hub size and opening type to your enclosure before you order.
